Advocating for Youth's Mental Health
“Hear Me Out” is a mental health awareness campaign developed for USAID. It is designed to connect with adolescents and their caregivers through honest, heartfelt communication. Recognising the growing mental health challenges faced by young people, the campaign creates a safe, stigma-free space where they feel empowered to speak openly. At the same time, it encourages caregivers to listen with empathy and respond with support, building mutual trust and understanding.
Goals
The main task/goal was to create the logo, which stands at the forefront of the campaign. The logo needed to capture the campaign’s core values: compassion, empathy, authenticity, and vulnerability. It had to appeal to young audiences while maintaining the trust of caregivers, striking a balance between emotional depth and approachability. The goal was to create a logo that felt inviting, human, and emotionally resonant.
Execution
The logo design process was rooted in emotional clarity and user-centred thinking. After moodboarding and exploring several concepts, I landed on an icon that incorporated both a human as well as a heart, showcasing the heart in the minds of each person.
This logo guided the tone of the entire campaign across digital, print, and social platforms. The logo became a unifying symbol for youth and caregivers alike—helping build immediate recognition and emotional connection while anchoring the broader visual language of the campaign.
